| The Africa Guide |
“The seven years since the previous review of this commercial Web site (CH, Dec'99, 37-1907), which specializes in African travel information, have seen notable changes introduced in format and content. The six original sections have been expanded to seven, with Countries remaining as the first item listed under Africa Guide and specific information broken out on such topics as national anthems and flags. The Overlanding section from the first edition has been retained, but is now a heading under the general guide to the continent, with expanded information on the topic covered in depth in the second major division of the page, Tours and Safaris. The Charities section of the original (under Africa Guide) has been joined by listings for medical and conservation projects.” – Choice |

| The Atlas of Canada. |
“This sixth edition was released in 2006 to mark the 100th anniversary of the publication of the first edition in 1906 (the fourth and fifth editions were titled The National Atlas of Canada). The preponderant content consists of digital maps and explanatory text organized into the following broad thematic sections: Environment, People and Society, Economy, History, Climate Change, Freshwater, Health, Reference Maps, Topographic Maps, and Map Archives. The latter comprises digital images of all previous editions of the work, the Glacier Atlas of Canada, 1969 to 1972, and the Canadian sector of the International Map of the World. The major thematic sections are subdivided into more specific topics. For example, Climate Change has six subsections: Human Activities Leading to Emissions, Stress to the Atmosphere, Climate Warming, Potential Impacts, Societal Responses, and Future Options.” -- Choice |

| Electronic Cultural Atlas Initiative (ECAI) | "The Cultural Atlas is designed to be a tool for visualizing and analyzing historical and cultural phenomena. With the capacity to create customized maps based on a theme, era and region of interest, you can quickly answer--or at least frame--questions that would once have taken a lifetime. What religions had pilgrimage sites along the Silk Road? Was there much regional variation in mortality in nineteenth century Britain? The Cultural Atlas can be used for research, teaching, advocacy, and resource discovery." |
| The Geography of Transport Systems. |
"In the relatively narrow discipline of transport geography, this work by Rodrigue (Hofstra), Comtois (Montréal), and Slack (Concordia) is a welcome addition. Funded by Industry Canada and the Université de Montréal, it is intended primarily as an introductory undergraduate textbook, but might also be useful to graduate students in such fields as geography and regional planning." -- Choice |

| Intute: Science, Engineering & Technology: Geography. |
Intute: Science, Engineering and Technology brings together three of the hubs of the Resource Discovery Network (RDN): EEVL (Engineering, Mathematics and Computing) (CH, Jul'02, 39-6440); GEsource (Geography and Environment); and PSIgate (Physical Sciences) (CH, Sup'06, 43Sup-0224). The geography portion, under review here, provides access to article citations, e-journals, newsletters, reports, blogs, datasets, and more." -- Choice |

| Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection |
"One of the constants in reference work is the need for maps of all kinds and for many different purposes. Maps are difficult to adapt to computer use largely because computer screen size necessitates the diminution of the maps' original size. With that caveat in mind, this Web site is about as good as is possible for a general map site with worldwide coverage. The entry page is divided into three parts, and features links to internal and external sites." -- Choice |
